Senior Johnny Grimal's singles run in the ITA All-American qualifying draw came to an end on Wednesday in the qualifying round with a 6-3, 6-2 loss to North Carolina's Ronnie Schneider.
Grimal will now prepare for the ITA Ohio Valley Championships, hosted by the University of Tennessee, Oct. 11-13th. With the two singles wins at the ITA All-American, including a win over No. 65 ranked Williams Kallberg of Mississippi on Tuesday, Grimal improved his overall singles mark on the season to 5-2.
Memphis has one entry remaining in the ITA All-American field. The doubles tandem of David O'Hare and Joe Salisbury will play in the main draw of doubles on Thursday. They will face the San Francisco team of Beernardo Saraiva and Nils Skajaa at 5 p.m.
