DENVER, Colo. - The Oregon men's tennis team lost a neutral-site match, 5-2, on Saturday night to No. 61 Nebraska at Denver University's Stapleton Tennis Pavilion.
The Ducks fell to 7-7 on the season with the loss while the Cornhuskers improved to 8-2 after a 10-match road-trip to begin the 2009 season.
Oregon's points came from wins by freshman Ayrton Wibowo (6-4, 1-6, 10-4) at No. 3 singles and junior Ric Mortera at No. 5 singles (6-4, 6-4). Wibowo's win was his eighth in duals play this year, the second-highest win total on the squad.
Nebraska won the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Oregon's tandem of Alexander Cornelissen and Marcos Verdasco won at No. 1 doubles, improving their duals record in 2009 to 8-6.
The Ducks defeated Air Force on Friday before their match with the Huskers on Saturday and the team's stay in Colorado will continue on Sunday when the Ducks square up with the Denver Pioneers.
