Puebla is entering his second season as women's tennis coach
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (June 24, 2009) - UNF women's tennis Head Coach Rodrigo Puebla, coming off a successful first season with the Ospreys has been elected as a regional committee member for the 2009-10 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
More than 300 hundred coaches volunteer annually on a variety of ITA committees. As a member of the South ITA Regional Committee, Puebla will help with ranking players, selecting All-Americans and other awards administered throughout the season.
Puebla, a native of Santiago, Chile, led UNF to 16 wins last season and tied for third in the Atlantic Sun standings. Two of Puebla's players, Aline Berkenbrock (Sao Bernardo do Campo, Brazil) and Raquel Castro (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), were selected for A-Sun All-Conference First Team. Ina Durcakova (Pisek, Czech Republic) and Nikita van Lierop (Spykenisse, Holland) also won All-Conference Second Team Doubles.
