Singh Downs Young to Reach Knoxville Challenger Quarterfinals

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Virginia men's tennis alumnus Sanam Singh (Class of 2011) recorded his second-career top 100 win as he advanced to the quarterfinals of the Knoxville Challenger. Singh posted a 6-0, 6-3 win over world No. 97 Donald Young during second-round play Thursday.
 
Singh, who reached the main draw with three wins in qualifying, will play Peter Polansky of Canada in the quarterfinals.
 
Also on Thursday in Knoxville, Virginia junior Mitchell Frank (Annandale, Va.) pulled out of the tournament due to injury before a second-round match against Rik de Voest.
