The No. 23 Wake Forest men's tennis team defeated No. 28 Michigan 6-1 on the road on Saturday evening. Wake Forest is now 7-4 and Michigan drops to 6-8.
No. 1 ranked doubles team of Cory Parr and Steven Forman earned the first WFU win of the night, defeating Jason Jung and George Navas at No. 1. David Hopkins and Jon Wolff clinched the point with an 8-5 win at No. 3.
Parr and Forman carried their success over to singles, with Parr taking a 6-2, 6-3 win over Jung at No. 1 and Forman downing Andrew Mazlin 7-6(3), 7-6(5). Jason Morgenstern put the Deacons up 3-0 and Iain Atkinson clinched the victory with a 6-2, 7-6(4) win at No. 3.
Wake Forest will next face East Tennessee State in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on March 12.
