Wichita State University - Facilities

Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex

In 1993 Wichita State University became home to the million dollar Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex.  Made possible by a gift from the Coleman family in memory of Sheldon Sr., the complex has become one of the finest collegiate facilities in the country.  Home to Shocker Tennis, the complex features eight lighted tennis courts with spectator seating and a 2,500-square-foot-clubhouse.  Within the clubhouse are offices for Director of Tennis Chris Young, Men’s Associate Head Coach Darius Schwarz, and Women’s Associate Head Coach Natalya Nikitina.  The complex also features public restrooms, locker rooms for both teams, a lobby, foyer, snack bar, racquet stringing center, and player lounge with a big-screen television.  For tournament and match play, a public address system was recently installed along with director style chairs for spectators. Located at the south entrance of the Wichita State campus, the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex is also a popular home for tennis enthusiasts in the Wichita community.
