Women's Tennis Wins Second Straight

Chestnut Hill, Mass - The Boston College women's tennis team defeated the Brown University Bears (3-1) at The Weymouth Athletic Club Thursday night by a score of 5-2. With the win, BC improves to 2-1 on the season.

The Eagles continued their early season doubles success by capturing the doubles point again taking a 1-0 advantage. Sullivan and Gajic got the Eagles on the score board first taking the #2 doubles match by an 8-4 score. Krasnopolsky and Attwell were able to secure the point for the Eagles by winning at #3 doubles with an 8-3 score.

The Eagles carried the momentum from doubles into their singles play. Senior Lauren Cash kept her undefeated dual record in tack winning in the #2 position 7-6(3), 6-3. Freshman Katarina Gajic won her first collegiate dual match in the #3 spot with a 6-0, 6-3 score. Team captain Dasha Cherkasov at # 4 earned a win 6-3, 6-0 and Katharine Attwell rounded out the Eagles scoring with a 6-4, 6-4 victory in the #5 spot.

The Eagles face another Ivy League rival on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Hanover, NH to take on the Dartmouth Big Green in a 3:00pm match.
