Bowdoin Nets ITA Academic Awards

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College tennis teams have been honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for their work in the classroom.

Both the Polar Bear men's and women's programs were recognized as All-Academic Teams, achieving a cumulative team grade point average of at least 3.20.

In addition, nine individuals were named ITA Scholar-Athletes by the organization after reaching at least a 3.50 GPA for the 2011-12 academic year.

For the women's team, Kellen Alberstone, Emma Chow, Hannah Hoerner, Susanna Howard and Emily Lombardi were honored. Nicholas Fenichell, Casey Grindon, Samuel King and Kyle Wolstencroft were tabbed from the men's team.

Both squads enjoying record-setting seasons in 2011-12, with both programs reaching the NCAA Quarterfinals for just the second time in program history.
