Tuesday, 08/14/2012

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin men's tennis players Oscar Pena (Miami, Fla.) and Samuel King (Rye Brook, N.Y.) have earned All-American recognition by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Pena, a senior, took honors in singles and doubles play. King, a sophomore, was named for his performance with Pena in doubles this season.

Pena was Bowdoin's #1 singles player for the majority of the campaign, earning seven victories in dual match play, including a win in the NESCAC title match and in Bowdoin's regional final win over Trinity (Texas). King teamed with Pena to be one of the top doubles teams in the nation this year. The duo recorded an 18-7 mark, including a 3-0 mark in NCAA Tournament play in Bowdoin's run to the NCAA Quarterfinals.

Pena and King were both named All-New England Small College Athletic Conference in May.
