Sartell, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University men’s tennis team added another 9-0 victory against the University of Sioux Falls on April 8, at the Gold’s Gym Tennis Center. With the win, the Huskies move to an outstanding 22-2 record for the season and have won 12 straight matches.
The Huskies started quickly by sweeping the doubles competition against the Cougars. At #1 doubles, the duo of Wojciech Batorski and Mike Master notched an 8-1 triumph. Success was also found by the #2 doubles team of Kris Johnson and Ryan Schoenefeld, which posted an 8-2 win. To round out doubles for SCSU, Kevin Bauleke and Jeremy Thompson joined forces at #3 to defeat Sioux Falls by a score of 8-3.
The Huskies also had strong performances in singles and took all six points from the Cougars. Victories were secured by Wojciech Batorski (#1), Mike Master (#2), Kris Johnson (#3), Ryan Schoenefeld (#4), Shane Ecklund (#5) and Alex Lesiuk (#6).
SCSU will have a short break for the Easter holiday and return to action on April 18, with a pair of matches against Augustana and the University of Mary. The matches will be played in Bismark, ND. Of note, SCSU is ranked first in the latest NCAA Division II Central Region Poll. Complete match results against the University of Sioux Falls are listed below:
