No. 6 UCLA Downs Oregon, 6-1

Eugene, Ore. - The sixth-ranked UCLA women's tennis team cruised to victory in its only match of the week on Friday, downing Oregon, 6-1 at the Oregon Student Tennis Center in Eugene, Ore.
 
UCLA (16-4; 7-2 Pac-12) claimed the doubles point with wins at court Nos. 2 and 3. After Courtney Dolehide and Kaitlin Ray won 8-2 at the No. 3 spot, Catherine Harrison and Pamela Montez clinched the point with an 8-4 win over Julia Metzger and Pascale Neubert at court No. 2.
 
Freshman Kyle McPhillips, who is ranked No. 71 nationally, played at the No. 1 position on Friday, downing Nicole Long, 7-5, 6-4. McPhillips is now 3-0 when playing at the No. 1 position for the Bruins.
 
Other straight-set winners for UCLA on the day were Ray (court No. 4) and Skylar Morton (court No. 5). UCLA's Montez and Dolehide both won in three sets at court Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.
 
Friday marked the first-ever dual match for redshirt senior Holly Fleming, as she appeared at the No. 6 singles position for the Bruins. She fell to Lana Buttner, 6-1, 6-4.
 
UCLA closes out the regular season next week, as the Bruins head across town to face USC on Thursday. First serve is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
