Hurricanes wrap up the regular season Sunday at No. 3 Virginia

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 63 University of Miami men's tennis team will conclude its regular season schedule this Sunday, April 15 at the No. 3 ranked Virginia Cavaliers. The match will begin at 11 a.m. at the Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center.

Miami (8-11, 1-9) is looking to earn an upset victory over the Cavaliers and end their season on a high note. The team lost their last match when they traveled to Virginia Tech this past Friday.

Diego Soto highlighted the Hurricane effort against the Hokies as he defeated Corrado D. I. Tocci in straight sets at the No. 4 position. Gabriel Flores also fought hard against the No. 44 ranked singles player Luka Somen as he won the second set, but ultimately lost in the third set.

Virginia (19-1, 10-0) comes in as one of the best teams in the country, having not lost since the finals of the ITA National Team Indoor Tournament.

The Cavaliers are led by three singles players ranked in the top 100 with Jarmere Jenkins at No. 6, Alex Domijan at No. 47 and Justin Shane at No. 86. The team also has the No. 18 ranked doubles team with Jenkins and Drew Courtney.

Following Sunday's match, the Hurricanes will prepare for the ACC Championships which begin Thursday, April 19 in Cary, N.C.
