USC's Kaitlyn Christian, Danielle Lao and Sabrina Santamaria have established themselves as regulars on the ITA All-American honor roll after another strong season of competition with the Women of Troy. Overall, Santamaria leads the pack now as a four-time All-American, with Christian boasting three sets of All-American honors and Lao doubling up on her All-American status.
Senior Danielle Lao has capped off her USC career as a two-time All-American, having wrapped up 2013 ranked No. 12 in the nation in singles to go along with a No. 74 final ranking in doubles with Valeria Pulido. A 9-16 seed into the 2013 NCAA Singles Championships, Lao finished her senior season with a 27-6 overall singles record, including the most dual-match singles wins on the team with 20 victories on the year. Named the 2013 ITA Southwest Region Senior Player of the Year and also a 2013 All-Pac-12 First Team honoree, Lao closed her career with a 107-39 overall career record in singles to go along with a 63-21 record in dual-match play.
The 2013 NCAA Doubles Champions, Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria completed what is considered a collegiate tennis triple crown when they wrapped up the NCAA crown to go along with their ITA National Indoor Doubles Championship and the ITA/Riviera All-American Doubles Championship. The Trojan duo entered the 2013 NCAA Championships as the No. 2 seeded team in the draw, having gone undefeated in the regular season before taking their first loss of the season during NCAA Team play. The Women of Troy regrouped and wrapped 2013 with a 37-1 overall record together, finishing out as NCAA champs and taking back the No. 1 ranking to close the year. This year's honors make it back-to-back ITA All-American accolades for junior Christian and sophomore Santamaria in doubles since teaming up last season, while Christian now hold a set of three doubles All-American honors after having secured the award as a freshman when she and teammate Maria Sanchez reached the 2011 NCAA Doubles semifinals. Christian and Santamaria were also named 2013 Pac-12 Doubles Team of the Year after winning back-to-back conference titles.
For the second straight season, sophomore Sabrina Santamaria has pocketed ITA All-American singles honors to complement her doubles All-American status with Christian. Now a four-time All-American, Santamaria finishes 2013 ranked No. 3 in the nation in singles. She was seeded No. 2 in the NCAA Singles Championships, reaching the Round of 32 to close down her sophomore season as the team leader in singles wins with a 31-5 record on the year. She was the 2013 Pac-12 Player of the Year and won the Freeman Memorial Singles title in the fall of this season.
