Crimson Tide moves to 6-0 at home this season

 

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 28th-ranked Alabama men’s tennis team (6-5) improved its home record to 6-0 with a pair of wins on Sunday against Eastern Kentucky (7-5) and Winthrop (1-5). The Crimson Tide took down the Colonels 7-0 in its first match of the day then picked up a 6-1 victory against the Eagles.

 

Alabama swept the six doubles contests to earn the early point in both matches. Freshman Jarryd Botha clinched the win for the Tide in the morning match with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Eastern Kentucky sophomore Niklas Schroeder, while sophomore Michael Davis secured Alabama’s win over Winthrop claiming a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Eagle sophomore Guy Kubi.

 

Next up, the Tide opens Southeastern Conference play when it hosts Georgia on Friday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. (CST). All action takes place at the Alabama Tennis Stadium, and admission is free.
