Crimson Tide doubles team falls in main draw semifinals
AUBURN, Ala. – Alabama sophomores Daniil Proskura and Carlos Taborga dropped a close 8-6 decision to Mississippi’s Jonas Lutjen and Johan Backstrom in the semifinals of the doubles main draw at the ITA/USTA Southern Regional Championships on Sunday.
“Daniil and Carlos lost a close match to a good team,” said Alabama assistant coach Bo Hodge. “They had a good tournament, and hopefully they will gain some more confidence as we enter our next tournament.”
Alabama will host its lone tournament of the season, the Crimson Tide Fall Championships, beginning Friday, October 28.
