SKILLMAN, N.J. – Alabama juniors Daniil Proskura and Carlos Taborga represented the Crimson Tide on the 2012 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Preseason rankings, which were announced today. Proskura came in at No. 59 on the singles rankings, while Proskura and Taborga team up to form the 33rd-ranked doubles tandem.

In 2012, Proskura led Alabama in singles victories with 18 wins. He beat four nationally-ranked opponents in singles, with two of those wins coming against players in the top 30. Proskura clinched two of the Tide’s last three wins, including its first victory over Tennessee since 2006.

As a doubles team, Proskura and Taborga tied for the most victories on the team with 13 last season. The majority of the matches they played in came during the tournament season.

Alabama will open its 2012 fall slate next weekend when it plays at the Duke Fab Four Invite in Cary, N.C. Matches will begin on Friday, September 14, and conclude on Sunday, September 16.
