The Vols will host VCU, North Carolina State and Michigan State in its four-team section of the 2014 ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Jan. 25 and 26.
The ITA conducted its annual draft Thursday in which teams chose where they will play. The top 15 participating teams are host sites, and the next 45 teams in order of their final 2013 ranking select their tournament destination.
The event serves as the qualifying stage for the 16-team ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The winners of the 15 host sites advance to the national tournament in Houston. As host of National Indoors, Texas A&M automatically qualified.
The Vols have reached the National Indoors the last five seasons. In 2013, the Vols had to go on the road to qualify, beating host Illinois and North Carolina.
The 2014 ITA Kick-Off Weekend will be the fifth time the Vols have hosted the event. Michigan State also came to Knoxville in 2012. Tennessee will take on the fourth-seeded Spartans on the first day, and second-seeded VCU plays Michigan State. The two winners then play on Jan. 26.
