KNOXVILLE - The Unviersity of Tennessee women's tennis team traveled to Texas Wednesday and came away with a clean 7-0 sweep of Prairie View A&M University.

The Lady Vols, playing without Kata Szekely and Brynn Boren extended the Lady Vols' win streak to three games with the victory.

Tennessee dropped just two games during doubles play coming away with a sweep of doubles action as Caitlyn Williams and Joanna Henderson playing at No. 1 doubles earned an 8-2 victory while newly formed doubles pairs Sarah Toti and Jesse Grace and Tiffany Tavares and Kayla McMurry defeated their Panther opponents 8-0.

In singles action, Williams, playing at No. 1 singles for the first time in her career, walked away with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.

Her doubles partner Henderson earned a 6-0, 6-0 straight set victory at No. 2 singles while Tiffany Tavares, playing at the top of the lineup for the first time in her career came away with a 6-4, 6-2 victory.

The No. 4 through No. 6 singles dropped just two games combined as Jesse Grace, playing in just her second match of the year defeated her A&M opponent 6-0, 6-1.

At No. 5 singles, Sarah Toti recorded her first victory since tearing her ACL nearly a year ago with a 6-0, 6-0 victory and at No. 6 singles, playing in the first dual match of her career downed her opponent 6-0, 6-1.

The Lady Vols will look to continue the momentum when they face Texas A&M and Missouri for the first time as SEC opponents. UT will first take on A&M Friday night at 7 p.m. followed by a Sunday afternoon meeting with Missouri.
