4 Star Summer Camps would like to welcome you to the 2002 4 Star Tennis Camp for boys and girls ages 9 –18.  We are delighted to offer this outstanding camp at the exceptional campus and facilities of the University of Virginia.

Not all tennis camps are the same!   Selecting the right camp will provide “summers that last a lifetime”.  As the varsity tennis coach at the University of Virginia since 1981, I have directed this camp for over 20 years.  During this time we have developed and refined a world renowned summer tennis program second to none.  Combining the best of supervision with quality instruction and fun-filled non-tennis activities has become our trademark.  Among the highlights of all of our tennis programs are:

• Small group instruction with stroke development, strategy sessions, drilling, and videotaping.

• “Self-select segments” which allow students to work on specific things they choose.

• Private lessons. 

• A Singles and Doubles Development Program with on-court demos by senior staff and developmental and competitive drills. 

• Singles, doubles, and team tennis Tournaments for different age groups and ability levels.

• Extra Help sessions for students desiring additional work. 

• The development of a Plan to enable the student to achieve his/her goals while at camp.

• A Journal documenting student’s daily tennis activities and improvement.  End of camp Evaluations and Recommendations for a student’s continued improvement are provided to campers. 

• Mental Toughness Workshop – learn how to play at the top of your game, get that 2^nd serve in on big points, stop losing matches due to nerves and “choking”, and win “the close ones”! 

• Specifically designed Conditioning program. 

• Use of UVA’s many Outstanding Facilities, including 17 outdoor and 5 indoor courts.
