COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Boise State men’s tennis fell 4-0 Sunday afternoon at fifth-ranked Texas A&M in the second round of the ITA Kickoff. Boise State lost the doubles point 2-0 before Texas A&M put it away with three consecutive singles wins. It is the first loss of 2016 for 59th-ranked Boise State who moved to 4-1 on the year.
Senior
Toby Mitchell

Mitchell took on 5th-ranked Arthur Rinderkneck at No. 1 singles falling in two sets 6-3, 6-3. Meanwhile, Butters the hero of Saturday’s win over San Francisco also fell in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles to No. 29 Shane Vinsant.
Doubles was a challenge as well for Boise State’s No. 3 duo of freshman
Pedro Platzeck
and junior
Abe Hewko
who faced Texas A&M’s tandem of Jordi Arconada and Max Lunkin who are ranked 29th nationally. The Broncos battled hard before bowing out 6-2.
Things do not get any easier for the Broncos this week as they head to the east coast for Blacksburg, Va., to face the 14th-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday.
