CHARLESTON, S.C. – Andrea Schutte, Angie Torres and Brooke Pletcher all posted two wins to lead the Charleston Southern women’s tennis team to a 6-1 victory over University of North Carolina Asheville Saturday afternoon at CSU Tennis Complex.

The Buccaneers (3-0, 1-0 Big South Conference) remained undefeated and earned a little revenge as the Bulldogs (2-3, 0-1 BSC) took down CSU in last season’s meeting.

Pletcher and Susita Das defeated Nicole Schon and Britney Cloer 8-2 to give CSU the doubles point. Marija Dzakovic and Olga Makhova fell 8-7 (9-7) to Louise Bottomley and Devon Cavanaugh from the second doubles slot.

The tandem of Makhova and Dzakovic posted singles victories and remained undefeated in solo action this year from the first and second slots, respectively. Makhova defeated Smith 6-0, 6-2 and Dzakovic took down S. Schon 7-6 (7-1), 6-3.

Schutte also remained undefeated in singles as she defeated Cavanaugh 7-5, 6-2 from the third slot.
