CofC Tennis set to host No. 21 Wake Forest; Doubles match to be streamed live
MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The College of Charleston women’s tennis team will put its 8-1 record on the line as they host No. 21 Wake Forest for the second time in program history at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10 at Patriots Point.
The only other time the two teams faced off came on March 12, 2002 when the Cougar’s Gabi Moreira lost to the No. 1 ranked and eventual NCAA Champion Bea Bielik 6-4, 6-1. At that time, the Demon Deacons were ranked No. 2 in the country.
This time they enter the match at No. 21 while Charleston is No. 65. The Cougars will make history tomorrow as they will stream the doubles portion of their match live over the internet for the first time in program history. Streaming will be available on www.CofCSports.com through “Inside The Pride” and will cost from $8.95 for the monthly package to 89.95 for the yearly subscription.
Each package affords the viewer an array of Cougar broadcasts to choose from including men’s and women’s basketball and baseball and softball in addition to tennis coverage. Charleston will also stream the doubles matches this Sunday, March 15 against Davidson and on April 9 vs. Furman.
