SALT LAKE CITY – The LSU Lady Tigers tennis team begins the Utah Fall Invitational at the Eccles Tennis Center on the Utah campus Friday.
The tournament is the last competition of the team’s fall season.
“We have picked up the focus and intensity the last few tournaments,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “We are excited to play indoors since we don’t get the opportunity to do that very much. This is a great opportunity for us to end the fall season on a good note.”
Whitney Wolf headlines for the Lady Tigers coming off a semifinal performance at the ITA Southern Regional in Birmingham, Ala. She takes on Utah’s Lucia Kovarcikova in the first round of the A bracket.
Two other Lady Tigers will compete in the A bracket as Kaitlin Burns will face Danielle Flores of Utah and Olivia Howlett will oppose Wyoming’s Jessica Parizher.
In the B singles bracket Rebecca Bodine plays Laura Porras of Idaho State, Yvette Vlaar goes against Christa Gecheva of Wyoming and Keri Frankenberger takes the court opposite Morgan Basil of Boise State.
Howlett and Vlaar will team up in doubles against Boise State’s Sandy Vo and Morgan Basil.
The doubles pair of Bodine and Burns will face Sasa Nemcova and Alexandra Kovacs of Wyoming.
Tournament play begins Friday at 9 a.m. CT with the first round of doubles, followed by the first and second singles rounds.
