BOULDER, Colo. – The LSU Lady Tigers tennis team began the 2012 dual match season with stellar play across the board as they swept the Colorado Buffaloes 7-0, inside the Millennium Hotel Harvest House bubble on Sunday.

“I was really impressed with the way our group handled playing at altitude in indoor conditions,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “We played solid from top to bottom, so I was very pleased.”

The Lady Tigers began the day by winning two of the three doubles matches to take the doubles point.

Whitney Wolf and Keri Frankenberger emerged victorious 8-4 over Carla Manzi Tenorio and Kristina Shleich. The win was the pair’s sixth from their last eight matches, in addition to being their first dual match victory while playing on court one.

Olivia Howlett and Yvette Vlaar defeated Winde Janssens and Julyette Steur, 8-5, before Kaitlin Burns and Ariel Morton fell to Ania Anuszkiewicz and Erin Sanders 8-4.

Whitney Wolf continued her stellar play on the singles court as she led things off with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph over Krissi Schleich. The win was the senior’s 61st career victory, and the eighth time she has won on court one. She has now won 11 of her last 14 matches dating back to the fall.

Olivia Howlett cruised in straight sets over Winde Janssens 6-3, 6-0 on court two. Kaitlin Burns followed that up by defeating Julyette Steur 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 to take her career total on court three to one match over .500.

Ebie Wilson prevailed in straight sets over Erin Sanders 6-2, 6-3, and she is now a win away from 20 career singles victories.

Keri Frankenberger beat Carla Manzi Tenorio 6-2, 6-3 on court five, and freshman Rebecca Bodine won her first career dual match over Ania Anuszkiewicz (CU) 6-1, 6-0 on court six to complete the sweep.
