Frankenberger Named to SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- LSU women’s tennis junior Keri Frankenberger earned a spot on the SEC Community Service Team, the league office announced Wednesday.

The SEC Community Service Team highlights athletes from all 20 SEC sports who give back to their community in superior service efforts.

Frankenberger serves as a women’s tennis representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She also adopted an underprivileged child for the holidays with the women’s tennis team providing gifts at a program in addition to serving a Thanksgiving style meal to the family.

As part of Thanksgiving with the Tigers, the Gainesville, Fla., native played games with 21 children adopted by the LSU student-athletes. She also volunteered at Holiday on Campus, the annual holiday event on the LSU campus, collecting canned goods for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, collecting toys for the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, in addition to helping distribute food.

Frankenberger also took part in a team visit to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital over Spring Break.

Other members of the SEC Community Service Team include Alabama’s Mary Anne Macfarlane, Arkansas’ Emily Carbone, Auburn’s Taylor Schriemann, Florida’s Joanna Mather, Georgia’s Kate Fuller, Kentucky’s Grace Trimble, Ole Miss’ Gabby Rangel, Mississippi State’s Rosaline Dion, South Carolina’s Dominika Kanakova and Tennessee’s Natalie Pluskota.

LSU begins postseason play against Arkansas in the first round of the SEC Tournament Thursday in Oxford, Miss., at noon CT.
