OXFORD, Miss. -- The LSU women’s tennis team fell to Arkansas 4-1 in the first round of the SEC Tournament at Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center on the Ole Miss Campus Thursday.

LSU (11-12) was eliminated from the SEC Tournament, while Arkansas (12-12) advances to face No. 2 seed, Alabama (16-3) Friday at noon CT.

Whitney Wolf and Keri Frankenberger also won in doubles for the second-straight time.

“This was a tough loss today,” LSU head coach Tony Minnis said. “It’s unfortunate, but Arkansas played well. Now we just sit back and wait to see if we will get an NCAA Tournament bid.”

With all eyes focused on court three, Kate Lukomskaya and Catherine Parenteau clinched the doubles point for Arkansas 8-6 against Kaitlin Burns and Ariel Morton.

With the action shifting to singles, Arkansas quickly seized control of the match taking the first set on four courts.

Gingras beat Vlaar 6-3, 6-0 on court five to give Arkansas a 2-0 lead.
