Third in the Nation, VolleyballBATON ROUGE -- LSU's 2012 women’s tennis media guide has been voted No. 1 in the nation in the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) yearly publications contest, the organization announced Tuesday.

The “Best in the Nation” honor was the highest finish a LSU Women’s Tennis Media Guide has ever received.

The 2012 LSU baseball and softball media guides were also named “Best in the Nation” giving LSU three of the nation's top publications this year, the most in school history.

“The LSU sports information office continues to produce some of the finest athletics publications in America and it is good to see peer institutions recognize LSU with these awards,” Herb Vincent LSU Associate Vice Chancellor for Communications and Senior Associate Athletic Director said. “This is great work by the sports info and publications teams for LSU.”

The 84-page women’s tennis media guide was written and edited by Sports Information Student Assistant Jacob Most, and edited by Associate Sports Information Director Jake Terry.

The guide was designed by Student Graphic Designer Lacye Beauregard, and photography was provided by Steve Franz, Chris Parent and Hilary Scheinuk. Publications Director Jason Feirman and Graphic Design Coordinator Krystal Bennett also contributed to the guide’s design.

The guide serves as a complete source of LSU women’s tennis information, including coach and player bios, statistics, notes, records and a summary of the program's history.
