NM State's Brouleau Named WAC Player of the Week

DENVER, Colo. – New Mexico State sophomore Jim Brouleau has been named the Western Athletic Conference men’s tennis Player of the Week for Jan. 26 – Feb. 1. This is the second WAC Player of the Week award for Brouleau in his career.

Brouleau, a sophomore from Poitiers, France, won all three of his singles matches in straight sets, helping the Aggies win all 18 of their singles matches in their opening weekend. Brouleau, the 16th-ranked player in the mountain region, did not lose more than three games in any set. Including his fall tournament singles record, he now owns a 15-3 overall mark this season.

New Mexico State finished its opening weekend with sweeps over Northern Arizona, Western New Mexico and Abilene Christian. The Aggies only lost one set in the 18 singles matches they played.

NM State is back in action this weekend with three matches in Las Vegas, Nev., Feb. 6-8. The Aggies face Cal Poly, host UNLV and Southern Mississippi in Sin City.
