Pack Women's Tennis Falls at No. 9 Miam

 CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The NC State women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 defeat to the ninth-ranked Miami Hurricanes in ACC action Thursday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

Miami (12-3, 3-1 ACC) jumped out to an early advantage in doubles play after Melissa Bolivar and Kelsey Laurente defeated the Wolfpack duo comprised of senior Chloe Smith and Sophie Nelson, 8-1, at the No. 3 spot.

The Hurricanes were also able to collect victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, as Miami's 31st-ranked doubles team of Stephanie Wagner and Kine Lilekite edged junior Joelle Kissell and senior Tatiana Illova, 8-6, at the top spot in the lineup to clinch the doubles point and give Miami a 1-0 lead in the overall match.

Clementina Riobueno and Monique Albuquerque completed the doubles sweep with another 8-6 win over sophomore Elisha Hande and freshman Rachael James-Baker in the No. 2 spot.

Miami continued to apply pressure to NC State (10-4, 1-3 ACC) in singles play, as Albuquerque pushed the Hurricanes' lead to 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Smith at the No. 4 spot. Bolivar followed up with a 6-3, 6-1 win over junior Christy Sipes in the No. 6 spot, before the 122nd-ranked Riobueno clinched the overall match after defeating Hande, 6-1, 6-4, in the No. 5 singles match.

Playing in the No. 2 spot, 92nd-ranked Illova fell, 6-3, 6-2, to the 73rd-ranked Laurente, while freshman Rachael James-Baker was defeated, 6-3, 7-6, by Lileikite in the No. 3 spot.
