GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second straight season, NC State junior Joelle Kissellhas been selected to the All-ACC Women’s Tennis Team as announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.
A native of Hostetter, Pa., Kissell became just the third player in program history to earn back-to-back All-ACC honors, and the first since Kylie Hunt accomplished the feat in 1994 and 1995.
Kissell owns an 18-11 overall mark this season and is 14-5 in dual singles matches – all of which have been played at the No. 1 spot in the lineup. She also collected seven wins against ranked opponents on the year.
With her 6-3, 6-3 win over Georgia Tech's 86th-ranked Elizabeth Kilborn on April 21, Kissell won her 49th-career spring singles match and passed Blair Sutton (1995-98) for third on the program's all-time list.
Last season, Kissell became the second player in program history to advance to the second round of the NCAA Singles Championship with a three-set victory over California’s Tayler Davis.
