LUBBOCK, Texas - No. 27 Texas Tech swept a pair of matches on Saturday at the McLeod Tennis Center to improve to 5-3 on the season.

The Red Raiders opened the day with a 6-1 win over Wichita State and closed the afternoon with a 7-0 blanking of Lamar.

"We battled through a talented Wichita State team and some tough conditions," said Red Raider head coach Tim Siegel. "Then we battled Lamar in the afternoon, so it was a productive day. Everyone on our team knows we have to improve. The schedule is very difficult from her on out."
