SAN FRANCISCO - The No. 24 Tulsa women's tennis team netted a 6-0 win against San Francisco Monday at Golden Gate Park.
The Golden Hurricane will conclude it's road swing today against Saint Mary's, who is ranked No. 45 in the ITA Rankings.
Tulsa (11-5) won the doubles point as Saana Saarteinen and Michelle Farley earned an 8-6 win against Milica Hadzi-Tanovic and Yurie Hashiguchi at No. 2 doubles, while Maria Sant'Anna and Renata Kuricova defeated Brooke Irish and Marina Nikoliv, 8-5, at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Sant'Anna picked up a 6-2, 6-2, win against Irish at No. 5 singles. The Hurricane extended its lead to 3-0 after Kuricova, playing on Court No. 6, defeated Melinda Akerbrant, 6-2, 6-3.
Farley sealed the Tulsa win with a 6-3, 6-1, victory at No. 3 singles against Hadzi-Tanovic.
The final two triumphs for Tulsa were won in three-sets, as Saarteinen defeated Nikolic 6-2 1-6, 10-8 at No. 4 singles.
Samantha Vickers, ranked No. 31 in singles, defeated No. 76 Andrea Ka 5-7, 6-4, 10-6 at No. 1 singles to earn TU's final win of the day.
