Women’s Tennis vs. Bloomsburg

Laie, HI—The third-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team swept away Bloomsburg (PA) today, 9-0, for their tenth straight win. The Seasiders won the three doubles matches easily and swept all six singles matches in straight sets to improve to 10-0 for the season.
BYU–Hawaii’s Yuan Jia and Elwen Li breezed to an 8-0 win at number one doubles while Shawni Porter and Ayako Ikeda took an 8-3 win at number two. Jenny Chin and Salina Aranda earned an 8-1 win at the third doubles position.
Jia took a 6-0, 6-3 win at number one singles and Ikeda won 6-3, 6-0 at the second spot. Porter played her way to a 6-1, 6-4 win at number three, and Aranda fought her way to a 6-2, 7-5 win at the fourth spot. Sophia Simmons snared a 6-3, 6-1 win at the fifth position for the Seasiders, and Theresa Holmes won the sixth slot 6-2, 6-0.
The Seasiders play again on Monday against Chaminade in Waipio (CORP) at 1:30 pm HST.
