Pensacola, FL—The second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team improved to 12-0 on the road today with a 9-0 win over 18th-ranked Cameron University. The Seasiders swept all six of the singles matches as well as all three of the doubles.
Elwen Li and Yuan Jia won 8-4 at number one doubles while Annie Hwang and Salina Aranda were taking an 8-0 decision at the second doubles slot. Sasha Ulbrichtova and Sophia Simmons earned a 9-8(4) win at number three doubles for the Seasiders.
In singles play, Jia won 6-0, 6-1 at number one, Li took a 6-2, 6-2 win at number two, and Hwang scored a 6-2, 6-0 win at number three. In the number four singles spot, Salina Aranda took another win for the Seasiders scoring 6-3, 6-2. Sasha Ulbrichtova won 6-1, 6-1 at number five singles. The win for number six singles was taken by Kaylyn Bristol who took a 3-6, 7-6(4), (13-11) decision.
The next action for the BYU–Hawaii women’s tennis team will be tomorrow against Austin Peay (TN) in Pensacola, Florida at 10:00 am CST.
