Augusta, GA—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team defeated Columbus State University 6-0 on the courts in Augusta, Georgia. The women’s record for the season now stands undefeated 17-0. The Seasiders won four games in singles play and earned decisions which gained them two more wins in doubles.
In doubles play Elwen Li and Yuan Jia took a 8-1 win at the top doubles position while Shawni Porter and Annie Hwang came up with a 8-3 win at number two doubles.
Yuan Jia won a 6-3, 6-1 decision at the number one singles position to lead the way for the Seasiders in singles play. Annie Hwang took the number two doubles spot and won 6-2, 6-1. Elwen Li won a 6-3, 6-0 decision in number three singles. Sasha Ulbrichtova breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at number five.
The next action for the BYU–Hawaii women’s tennis team will be tomorrow against Clayton State University in Augusta, Georgia at 1:00 pm.
