Laie, HI- The Brigham Young University-Hawaii women’s tennis team defeated UH-Hilo this afternoon 9-0 on the BYU-Hawaii tennis courts, to improve to an undefeated record of 20-0 this season.
Annie Hwang took a 6-2, 6-0 win for the Seasiders at the top spot in singles. Yuan Jia won 6-4, 6-3 in number two singles. Elwen Li claimed a 6-1, 6-1 decision at number three singles and Sasha Ulbrichtova won 6-0, 6-3 at number four. Sophia Simmons earned a 6-4, 6-2 win in number five and Kaylyn Bristol scored a 6-2, 7-6(2) won at the final singles spot.
In doubles play, Li and Jia took an 8-0 win at the top doubles position while Hwang and Bristol posted an 8-3 win at number two. Ulbrichtova and Simmons won 8-1 at number three doubles.
The next action for the BYU-Hawaii women’s tennis team will come on March 26 against UH-Hilo in Laie, Hawaii at 2:00 pm.
