Laie, HI—The second-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team improved to 22-0 today with a 9-0 win over College of Idaho. The Seasiders swept through the Coyotes easily, losing a total of only three games in the six singles matches and just two in the three doubles matches.
Elwen Li and Yuan Jia won 8-0 at number one doubles, as did Annie Hwang and Shawni Porter at number two. Salina Aranda and Sasha Ulbrichtova took an 8-2 win at number three.
In singles play, Li, Ulbrichtova, and Sophia Simmons each won 6-0, 6-0 at numbers one, four, and five singles. Aranda won 6-0, 6-1 at number two while Porter and Kaylyn Bristol won by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores at the third and sixth spots.
The next action for the BYU–Hawaii women’s tennis team will be April 4 in Waipahu, Hawaii against Chaminade at 1:30 pm.
