RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- The NAIA’s No. 7-ranked California Baptist University won five of six singles’ matches to key its way to a 7-2 GSAC over No. 20 Hope International Tuesday afternoon at the Pentz Tennis Center.

The win moves the Lancers to 3-3 overall, 2-2 GSAC. The Royals fall to 4-2, 2-2.

Starting with singles’ matches first, the Lancers quickly put an end to the match, winning the first five matches in straight sets to clinch the match before doubles even became a factor. Jelena Savic, playing in her first match at No. 3 this year, provided the clinching point with a 6-2, 7-6 win over Alex Weiss. Bettina Radke defeated Marcela Montanha 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 for the Royals’ lone singles’ point.

The Lancers won two of three doubles’ matches, winning at No. 2 and No. 3. Radke and Alex defeated Montanha and Dunya Wren 9-8 at No. 1 for the Royals’ lone point in doubles.
