Florida Atlantic University sophomore Marc Abdelnour was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Abdelnour is the first recipient of the award this spring.

Abdelnour, FAU's top singles player, is currently a perfect 7-0 as an individual and 4-2 in doubles competition. The sophomore picked up a key victory recently, downing the nation's 26th ranked player, No. 24 Rice's Bruno Rosa in straight-sets. He also racked up individual and doubles victories against three ranked teams.

The FAU tennis team will be back in action at 1 p.m. on February 7 against the University of Pennsylvania at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton.
