J C Smith nips Shaw 5-4 in Charlotte

The Johnson C. Smith University Golden Bulls (7-1, 10-2, 12-11) nipped the Shaw Bears in Charlotte on Saturday to clinch as least a tie for the Western Division crown.
With the score tied at 4 all, Rolanda Sue, a freshman from Charlotte, thrilled the hometown folks with 6-3,6-0 win over K Henderson of Shaw.
Earlier, Freshman sensation Cameron Chartman had defeated F. Silva 6-2, 6-0 at the number one singles and teamed with Jae hargett to beat the Shaw doubles team of Silva and Kenka 8-4.
The Golden Bulls next play at Brevard on Wednesday.
