BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Top-seeded Miami made quick work of No. 8 Northern Illinois Friday morning, sweeping the Huskies 4-0 in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-American Conference Championship.

The 75th-ranked RedHawks will face No. 5 Toledo Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in the semifnals. The Rockets swept host Bowling Green 4-0 in the other early quarterfinal match.

Miami, 14-6 after their 10th straight win, won the first 16 games of doubles, opening 6-0, 4-0 and 6-0 leads in their matches. Stephanie Danesis and Megan Martzolf was the first to finish, posting an 8-1 victory at No. 1 before Riekie Honiball and Brintney Larson clinched the point with an 8-2 at No. 3. Anastasia Dracheva and Monica Gorny had match point at 7-2 (40-15), but NCAA rules dictate matches be abandoned once a decision is reached.

The pair did not leave any chance of not finishing their singles matches. Dracheva put Miami up 2-0 with her 12th straight win, a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles, just two minutes before Gorny earned the RedHawks another point with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1. Danesis clinched the match by following with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.

The scores of the other matches were also one-sided. At No. 4, Martzolf led 6-4, 3-0 when play was halted, while No. 6 Honiball had won her first set 6-3 after trailing 2-1. The closest match had a 6-5 scoreline in favor of Larson.

The 10-match winning streak is the longest since the 1991-92 team ended the regular season with 10 straight wins before capturing the MAC Championship.
