LONGVIEW, Texas – The University of Texas at Tyler women’s tennis team earned its sixth shutout in nine matches with a 9-0 win over LeTourneau on Wednesday in Longview.

With the win, UT Tyler improved to 8-1 on the season and 3-0 in the East Division of the American Southwest Conference with just two matches left in league play.

Freshman Sydni Hermsdorf (Spring, Texas), junior Brittany Ude (Corpus Christi, Texas) and freshman Morgan Wilkins (Wimberley, Texas) all turned in perfect 6-0, 6-0 performances in singles action on the afternoon.

Hermsdorf and her doubles partner, freshman Hillary Stone (Keller, Texas), also picked up a shutout in their match as well.

The Patriots will open a five match California trip on Saturday when they take on Whittier at 11 a.m. PST.
