RICHARDSON, Texas – Freshman Sydni Hermsdorf of The University of Texas at Tyler women’s tennis team was named ASC East Player of the Week by the conference on Wednesday.

Hermsdorf went 3-0 at No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles on the week. Hermsdorf, along with partner, freshman Hillary Stone (Keller, Texas), also added a win at No. 1 doubles.

The Spring native had two complete shutouts in singles action on the week and three shutouts in doubles play. Hermsdorf is undefeated at both singles and doubles in dual match competition so far this season.

UT Tyler finished the week by going 4-0 overall and 3-0 in ASC matches.

On Saturday, the UT Tyler women’s team will open up a five match California trip by taking on Whittier College at 11 a.m., PST. During the trip, the 29th-ranked Patriots will take on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, No. 30 Chapman, No. 24 Skidmore and No. 11 Bowdoin.
