Eaters over #70 NMSU, Henderson Leads the Charge
Eaters over Aggies in Arizona
The UCI Men's Tennis Team started off their Arizona trip with an upset over #70 New Mexico State, in Tucson.
Leading the charge, Freshman Steven Henderson won both singles and his doubles matches securing the victory over New Mexico State 5-2. Also, perfect on the day were Zac Tsai, Jon Kazarian, Gautam Vaidyanthan, Stephen Stege and Sam Gould, with wins in their respective positions.
"This has been a total team effort this year, we have been playing 9 guys total every match and everyone is rising to the occasion on there individual court. It took sometime to get rolling, but we are finally in a great place to see just how good we can be, with Arizona up tomorrow. The guys have been tested often and early, but more importantly they are starting to play the tennis we always knew they could", said Coach Trevor Kronemann.
Next weeks home stand brings 5 matches to UCI in 6 days. First up will be Yale and Gonzaga on Wednesday followed by Portland and UNC Willmington on Friday and ending up with UPenn on Saturday at Coto De Caza Country Club at 1:30 PM.
