Stege and Kazarian Advance at Regionals

Stephen Stege (Junior) and Jon Kazarian (Sophmore) led the charge for the UCI Anteaters today in Malibu. Stege beat Cal Poly's Sebastian Bell 6-4,7-6. Also, Jon Kazarian was succesful against Ben Lankenau of USC with a score of 6-3,6-1. Stege will face Alex Lompart of Pepperdine and Jon will face off against Alex Sonneson of Cal Poly after the morning doubles event.

Sam Gould and Ryan Mayer were not as lucky on the first day of the Regional. Sam Gould put up a corageous battle against Andress Carasco, but ended up losing 4-6,7-5,6-4. Ryan played Leo Rosenberg of Hawaii tough but came up on the short end with a 7-6,6-3 showing.

The full Anteater team  will be in action tomorrow as Day 2 sees 9 Anteaters go to work in Malibu.
