Freshman Wessim Derbel continues to remain unbeaten in his collegiate career as he defeated Felix Macherez 6-2, 6-2 to become 4-0 since joining the team in the spring.

Alex Daruty improved to 5-4 as the junior defeated John Park 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 3 spot. Sophomore Kristian Kuharszky improved to 5-4 in singles when he defeated Raineir Matias 6-2, 6-2 and junior Augustin Myard picked up his second consecutive dual win of the season when he defeated Austin Andres in No. 6 singles.

However, UC Riverside was able to pick up the doubles point. Doan and Macherez defeated Derbel and Garcin in the No. 1 spot and Yi Chai and Park defeated Daruty and Kuharszky in the No. 3 spot. David and Myard picked up their second consecutive win together when they defeated Andres and Conroy in the No. 2 spot.

“We lost a close doubles point but our team responded very well early in the first sets of the singles matches,” Nevada head coach Chad Stoloff said. “It was great to see us compete very strongly at all positions, in singles. We are improving.”

The Wolf Pack (3-1, 0-0 WAC) will open its home schedule on March 1 against Sonoma State. The match is set to start at 1 p.m. Pacific Time. All home matches will be held at Lakeridge Tennis Club in Reno.
