In singles action, Lee returned at the top spot and evened her spring dual record at 6-6 by producing a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 victory versus Ullathorne. At No. 2, however, Davis fell against Adams, 6-2, 6-4, before Cornea was forced to retire at No. 3 against Teltumbde after trailing, 3-0, during the first set. Webb battled Starck at No. 4 before falling, 7-6, 6-3. Gatewood dropped a 6-0, 7-5 decision at No. 5 against Sanders before Texas Tech completed its victory at No. 6 with Kilgo besting McPike, 6-3, 6-1.

"Today was a really fun battle with great tennis on all of the courts," first-year Cal Poly head coach Damon Coupe said. "Texas Tech is a very good team and I thought that we played them tough. I'm really proud of Alexa for battling so hard today and coming back in the super-tiebreaker to win."

Cal Poly (6-6) continues its four-match home stand on Sunday, March 11 versus No. 60 Santa Clara. Action on Mustang Courts gets underway at 11 a.m.
