San Marcos, Calif. - Chargers defeat Palomar for first time in eight years. Charger head coach Jeff Benito was pleased with the win saying, "This was a good all around team effort today and it shows how hungry our team is to prove themselves.” Sophomore
Ben Thompson-Star started the match off on the right foot for Cypress with a win in singles and followed up with a win in doubles.
Thompson-Star led off with a win in the number two spot followed quickly by wins by freshmen
Derek Porter,
Greg Druckenmiller, and
Samir Haikel. Cypress quickly clinched the match win with a win in the number one spot by Sam Tozer. Tozer overcame a second set loss to win in a tie-breaker for the third set. The Chargers then went on to sweep doubles.
Cypress has a day off before returning home to host fourth ranked Glendale College Thursday at 2:00 pm.
