Sparty Goes Down, Hoosiers Roll

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Indiana claimed its second straight victory with a 5-2 win at Michigan State. The Hoosiers were led by sophomore Santiago Gruter and freshman Jeremy Langer, as the duo combined for two singles wins and a doubles win.

At number one doubles, Gruter and Langer, who are ranked as the 76th doubles pair in the country, took down the 79th-ranked team of John Allare and Jason Norville by a score of 8-6. The win closed out the doubles point as the Hoosiers also took the number three doubles match with a win by senior Peter Antons and freshman Maxime Armengaud.

The Hoosiers grabbed four singles wins on the day, taking the first three flights and the sixth flight. No. 114 Lachlan Ferguson won in straight sets at number one, winning 6-3, 6-4. Gruter and Langer both won in two sets at number two and three respectively, and freshman Will Kendall took his match 6-3, 7-6 (7-1).
