Hoosiers Knock Off the Jaguars

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's tennis (2-5) knocked off IUPUI (0-7) by a 6-1 score on Friday. The Hoosiers swept doubles action and only fell at number six singles.

In doubles, the Hoosiers took the sweep, winning 8-1 at number two, 8-3 at number one and 8-6 at number three. Josh MacTaggart and Daniel Bednarczyk made quick work of Jason Jaruvang and Patrick O'Neill at number two.

In singles play, Monette was the first to finish, knocking off Deon Shafer 6-0, 6-1 at number three. Then Bednarczyk knocked off Louis Sacks at number five, 6-1, 6-2. Next to finish was Isade Juneau, defeating Nick Volz 6-1, 6-2 at number one. MacTaggart then defeated Jaruvang 6-3, 6-3 at two, and Dimitrije Tasic bettered Thomas Gans 6-0, 6-4 at four.

The only tight singles match of the night was Alekzander Davila and Joel Modesitt at number six. Davila won the first set 6-4, before Modesitt did the same in the second set. Modesitt closed out the match in the third, taking the match 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
